Abstract

Analyzes four May 2025 executive orders directing expansion of US nuclear capacity, including a 400 gigawatt by 2050 target, Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing reform, and fuel cycle buildout. Argues that concurrent reductions to federal financing authorities create tension with the deployment timeline the orders set.
